Digital dreams, analog heart—I grew in the spaces where both worlds start.

Born and raised in Lethbridge, Alberta, and still here on purpose—I’ve spent a career proving you can work anywhere on the web without leaving the place you love. I even write a blog about this city, and have since 2009.

I’ve been making technology feel human since Y2K. My first websites went live just around the time the world expected computers to go boom when the clocks turned midnight. They didn’t, and I got to work: seventeen years leading web design at Lethbridge College, helping students find their way to whatever came next, and nearly eight at Automattic, supporting WordPress.com and WooCommerce customers and building more than a thousand websites for people with an idea and a deadline.

These days, I experiment with open-source projects built using AI tools like Claude Code, working with WordPress, and keep doing the thing that’s been underneath all of it: standing between changes in technology and everyday life. I believe design isn’t decoration—it’s how change becomes usable. The page, the button, the answer in the chat window: all one act of care, or none of it works all that well.

Off the clock, I cook whatever’s in the fridge, over fire if possible, borrowing from at least two cuisines, and spicier than strictly necessary. I read Murakami, meditate, watch animation, and try to squeeze in some Final Fantasy XIV. I have a lifelong weakness for hot springs—if I ever go missing, start at Ainsworth. I love the Rockies Mountains, which I visit with family.

Home is my two kids, Felix and Fern; the loves of my life. There’s also my old domestic long-hair cat named Popi, and Torgal, a Brussels griffon–terrier mix named after a much larger, much cooler wolf but just as scrappy.
